Be careful, or your will miss it...
This restaurant does not have a grandiose façade or fancy parking valet. It probably will not serve you a 6 course meal and clamp you down for 3 hours in a total unease quietness. What you will find is a symphony of grounded, fresh ingredients prepared by a warm-heart, stubborn, yet skillful chef, who painstakingly presents his tasty French country gourmet one dish at-a-time. Old-school is still the best!!!

A par for course French restaurant. Ambience was homey and more of a "cottage" feel. Family run and it felt like it. The staff were nice, albeit quite slow - it took them about 5 minutes while we stood at the front waiting for somebody to come over and seat us for our reservation we had.
We ordered a lobster bisque and Caesar salad to start. Both were better than expected. The bisque was creamy but light - quite a few chunks of lobster in there too. Great with the bread to dip.
The salad was fairly small for the price. I expected something I could share a bit more, but it was more personal sized.
For mains, my girlfriend had the scallops with cheese sauce on it with beans and potatoes on the side. The cheese was soooooo good. And the scallops were large and delicate. Just how it's made.
I had the filet mignon and it was just so soft and tender. It cut so easily and gushed with juice. Definitely the best thing on their menu I think - there's a hard line to beat on that steak and I'm glad I had it.
On the downside, all the sides on our plates were bland and had no creativity or ingenuity in them. My steak was great, but the potatoes, beans, and carrots had no flavor. I mean, could you just add some salt and pepper?? It's sad to say, but the delicious main dishes are just marred by the poor plating and lack of flavor in the sides.
A side dish should accentuate the flavors of the main, or produce synergy so you keep eating and having fun. I hope the restaurant learns to change the menu to add some complexity to the plate. -

Really wanted to like this place, but I can't think of the last time I've had a more disappointing meal.
Got the escargot and the mussels apps, both of which were ok. For mains got the duck and the coq au vin, both of which were really bad. Flavor and texture were just off. Served with sad green beans, carrots and mashed potatoes, which looked and tasted like they were from an old school frozen dinner.
Inside it was too warm, the place is old, and it's just not a nice ambiance. But that's all beside the point - would've been happy if the food was solid
Seriously don't understand how this place has 4 stars, unless the normal chef wasn't there. Went on a Friday night -

We came here for our annual Christmas date and so happy to know that they were open on Christmas Eve.
The place was old-school, but that what made the place charming. It is not the loud-typical-silicon-valley-hipster restaurant, but it was a homey, cozy, french bistro with a friendly service.
We ordered the asparagus soup and baked scallops and shrimp as starters. The warm french bread (crunchy on the outside, soft and fluffy inside) was served complimentary with delicious whipped butter (I think it was) with paprika. This truly brought me back to eating a french baguette in France. The soup was creamy but light and seasoned perfectly. The scallop and shrimp was warm, lightly cheesy and had comforting-homecooked-feel.
We both opted for the chateaubriand as our main dish. The plate arrived looking beautiful, with the meat perfectly cooked medium rare. There is a wine-shallot reduction sauce that came with the steak, along with delicious au-grautin potatoes and steamed veggies. The food portion was perfect and we ate everything on pur plate. The food was good, non pretentious and homey.
We also ordered a creme brulee and the Christmas log cake for desserts. They brought the whole log cake to show it to you. So cute.
The service could feel a tad slow at times, but they were all very courteous and sweet. It's not the kind of service and feeling that you get these days in most other restaurants where servers just got down to business and rushing all the time. It's a nice place to be for a quiet dinner, where you can actually have conversations with your dining mate (and hear each other), enjoy a sip of wine with your meal (the house red wine that I had was delicious), and left happy and peaceful.
Prices were reasonable for the type of cuisine and dining ambiance. We will certainly come back for a peaceful dinner date in the future :). What a great little local spot that we're so happy to find. To our surprise, we got a bottle of wine as a gift from the owner, how sweet! This charming local spot deserves a full star! -

It is a very small and cozy place! Parking is in the back of the restaurant. When we were there, there were only two servers but they provided excellent service! The foods selection is very small, but all the dishes we try are excellent. My personal favorite is the scallop one. It was so flavorful and cooked to perfection. This place is perfect couples and dates. I don't recommend for parties of 5 or more as it can get real cozy in there.
